Bilbao

I have lived here since I was a child. Bilbao used to be known as an important industrial city, but nowadays my city has changed a lot. Bilbao is becoming a beautiful city. The factories have been destroyed and at the moment in place of the old factories there are great buildings such as the Guggenheim Museum, the Euskalduna Palace, the Sheraton Hotel, the Isosaki's Towers... The Abandoibarra's new area, where the Iberdrola Tower, offices and flats are being constructed, is going to be finished in two years. This area will join the Guggenheim Museum and the Euskalduna Palace. The Miribilla's area will also be finished. Construction of the Zorrozaurre's new island is going to begin in few years, an impressive restructuring of this area of Bilbao.
Bilbao has developed very much in what to public transport it refers. We have enjoyed the comfort of the underground and the tram. Apart from these two public transport we also have buses.
In Bilbao you have some interesting places to visit. Apart from the museums, you can also visit the old town (The Seven Streets). There you can see the cathedral, the “Plaza Nueva”, the Town Hall and the Arriaga Theatre. You can also visit San Mamés the oldest stadium in Spain and the cathedral of Spanish Football. In summer we have a pop/rock festival and the Aste Nagusia.
I think that Bilbao is lucky not to be a very big city, yet to have all the advantages of a big city. I want to live here all my life.
